Laparoscopic surgery is the minimal invasive surgery with the help of a laparoscope. During laparoscopic surgery two or three small incisions are made in the surgical location. The internal cavity is then inflated with air to get a clear and visible image of the internal organs. A laparoscope is then inserted through the incision to view the internal cavity and organs. A laparoscope is a long tubular instrument that has a camera attached to its end that enables to view enlarged image of the cavity and organs through a monitor. Once observing the internal cavity and organs other surgical tools are inserted through the incision to perform the required tasks and then the incision is closed. This method of surgery is different from the traditional open surgery. In open surgery a large incision is made in the location and surgery is performed. At Greens medical center we offer all the facilities for the laparoscopic surgery. Greens medical center is a multispecialty hospital with well equipped infrastructure and have an expert team of doctors and surgeons to help you to recover from any medical conditions and to stay fit and healthy.

Advantages of Laparoscopic Surgery

Unlike open surgery, in laparoscopic surgery the hospital stay is very less as there is minimal invasion required. The patients experience very less pain and can even leave the hospital in a day or two depending on the complexity of the surgery performed. The patients can resume the normal daily activities within a day after laparoscopic surgery. However, patients are advised not to involve in straining activities like weight lifting for few weeks till complete recover from the surgery.

Laparoscopic surgery also reduces the chances for scar tissue formation or adhesions after the surgery. In open surgery the formation of adhesions are definite around the site of incision. These incision can cause pain and other discomfort in future. In most cases surgeries are performed to remove the scar tissues from the previous surgical site. In laparoscopic surgery the formation of adhesions are minimal.

There are many gynecologic conditions that can be treated using advanced laparoscopic surgical methods including

  • Endometriosis
  • Removal of tumors
  • Removal of Ovarian cysts
  • Removal of Pelvic adhesions
  • Uterine suspension using laparoscopic method
  • Removal of fibroids and so on

Now advancement in laparoscopic technology provides more clarity images and easy access to anatomic structures. Usually 3-4 incisions are made during the laparoscopic surgery. However the number of incisions depends on the complexity of surgery performed by the surgeon.

At Greens medical center we have an expert team of doctors and surgeons who are well experiences and have required skill sets to perform laparoscopic surgery with utmost care and accuracy.
